Welcome to Book Blog Love November! All this month, I’m featuring book blogs that I love and the fabulous female(s) behind them. (Curl Up with a Good Book Sunday and my regular posts resume in December.) Each day in November, I’ll spotlight a different blog whose content ranges from reviews to author interviews and events to book tours. All the bloggers graciously agreed to answer 7 questions about themselves. YA features predominantly in some, and in others is merely part of what they cover. So stick around and get to know these great chicks and the blogs they pour their hearts into. I bet you’ll see some old favs and make some new ones.
Presenting: Ellen and Always YA at Heart
1) Describe your blog and tell us why you chose that name for it?
Always YA at Heart is a book blog that features mainly Young Adult and, New Adult novels, and some Adult novels, as well as giveaways, book blasts, cover reveals, and author interviews. I chose the name “Always YA at Heart,” because I love Young Adult books and I believe that no matter what age you are, you can always be young at heart.
2) What are 3 things about you that would surprise people?
I read a ton of romance books, but my favorite movies are action/adventure. I do not like Coke or Pepsi, never have. I was in my 20’s before I started liking chocolate.
3) Why do you love YA? And conversely is there anything that drives you nuts about it?
I really just enjoy the stories, the memories, and the feelings that young adult books bring out. I wouldn’t say there is much that drives me nuts. I am glad to see more authors that write mature YA being bolder about the sex scenes, not in a raunchy way, but in a realistic way, because I think it is naive to think teens aren’t aware and/or participating or at least thinking about it.
4) What book would you fight a zombie horde to save?
Wow, that is a difficult question because I have so many favorites I don’t think I could choose just one. Can I just say my Kindle is worth more than gold.
5) If you had a theme song, what would it be and why?
Wow, that’s another tough question and while there are a lot of songs I like, I actually spend more time listening to audio books than I do the listening to the radio.
6) What fictional character would you want to date and who would you want for a best friend?
I would have to choose Daemon Black from Jennifer Armentrout’s Lux Series. He is absolutely yumtastic. Best friend, good question, Katniss Everdeen would be a great choice for that I think.
7) What has been the biggest surprise/delight of your blogging career?
I think the connection with all the other wonderful bloggers and authors out that is a kinship that only book lovers can appreciate and has been one of the most delightful things I found in blogging.
